All travelers who wish to enter the Ukraine will need a Ukraine Visa issued by the Ukraine Government, the Ukraine Consulate in the US or the Ukraine Consulate in your respective country. To obtain your Ukraine Visa you will need a Passport valid for a minimum of 6 months past the anticipated date of entry to the Ukraine. A Ukraine Visa application should be completed in full and accompanied by an official Ukraine Visa support or invitation letter supplied by a travel company authorized by the Ukraine Ministries of Internal and Foreign Affairs.
An entry visa for the Ukraine may not be obtained on the border prior to entry.
VISA REQUIREMENTS
The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine executive order ¹ 227 dated 20 January 1999 and entitled The New Ukrainian Visa Procedure put into effect the new visa procedure as of 1 October 1999. New types of the visa application and the visa blank (i.e. “the sticker”) were put into operation. The above executive order limited the regular visa processing time to up to 7-10 working days, and the urgent procedure to up to 2 working days. Visa applicants must pay consular fees depending on processing time.
The following documentation must be supplied by visa applicants to the Consular Section of the Embassy either IN PERSON or BY REGISTERED MAIL:
PASSPORT (valid original) per each applicant.
VISA APPLICATION (4 pages). The visa application form is available for downloading from this site Ukrainian Visa Application Form , or in printed form from the Consular Section of the Embassy of Ukraine near you. Completed applications must be submitted to the Consular Section of the Embassy of Ukraine in person or mailed by registered postal services. TWO RECENT PASSPORT-SIZE PHOTOGRAPHS per each applicant must accompany each application.
A PRE-PAID, SELF-ADDRESSED, PRE-REGISTERED ENVELOPE. Your documents will be returned to you via registered mail. Please consult your nearest post office about registered mailing.
Transit visa applicants must supply PROOF OF DESTINATION COUNTRY VISA/ENTRY PERMIT as applicable.
Applicants wishing to stay in Ukraine for three month or longer and/or applying for visas for such terms must supply an AIDS TEST CERTIFICATE.
Citizens of the European Union member states, Canada, Japan, Switzerland, the United States of America as well as certain European non-EU countries applying for business, sports, culture or private visas DO NOT NEED any invitations to get a visa to Ukraine. Citizens of most countries not listed above MUST SUPPLY an OFFICIAL INVITATION with their applications. Depending on the type of visas, invitations may be made by Ukrainian state agencies, companies, private persons (through local interior bodies) or tourist organizations (tourist vouchers or proofs of hotel pre-payment qualify as invitations).
